Specialists in Environmental Education
Brewongle is a NSW Department of Education and Training facility that provides environmental education and field work opportunities for students, teachers and the community in Western Sydney.
Brewongle caters for primary and secondary students from both government and private schools. Our aim is to take students beyond the classroom to explore, experience and discover!
Brewongle is located in Sackville North and is situated in a unique bush setting within walking distance from the Hawkesbury River. The highlight of the centre is the original 1878 sandstone classroom which provides students with a real life and interactive look at Australia's history.
Students will experience a unique blend of environmental, historical and cultural programs that utilise the diverse attractions, quality facilities and natural habitats of the surrounding Hawkesbury region.
School visits can be either for a day or for 2 to 3 day camps. The types of activities conducted during the visit are developed by experienced environmental teachers, and are determined by visiting teacher's current curriculum focus.
Teachers are encouraged to contact the centre to discuss programs that are suitable to the needs of their students.
